Not a lot to report. A very quiet, still day. Lincoln is no longer bubbly and happy. His tired and his head itches. He just wants to lay and stare at the TV. Maybe it's because he had Benedryl last night. That's what I'm going to believe because he cannot get sick before tomorrow. So there you go. He will not get sick. He is the picture of HEALTH.
The leads come off around 6pm, then Lost, then bed. Tomorrow begins with another MRI and then surgery.
Andy just showed up. Lincoln perked up.

Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteTook me a while to figure out how to respond to your/Lincoln's blog...
I've been following along with your journey. Remember so much of this when Cesare had his lobectomy in '08. The first few days of deliveries from New York Bagel, and the kind nurses gets old fast. The residents that round at 6am (why, oh why) and the neighboring patient bed merry go round. (Why can't we ever get that wide screen TV private room by the kitchen????) Sounds like Lincoln has been a total trooper, and so glad to hear that the leads will be off in a few hours. Hopefully you're scheduled for early in the morning. You'll greet the day with courage and not a little bit of anxiety- but trust Howard, he will take no chances with your son.
I recall the most annoying, and perpetually confused kindly volunteer with a clipboard wandering around the operating waiting room.. there to keep family members posted about their loved ones' progress. Most are in an out in a few hours, you'll be there all day. And if you are anything like me, the constant check ins about "Now who are you waiting for???" may drive you crazy. I asked her to check in with us! Howard will send someone out regularly to keep you posted.. and most of all no news is good news.
Will be thinking about you both, and sending love and best wishes to Planet X.
Amy Silvestro
I'll be thinking about you all tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHi, Amy, I'm Stephanie's cousin, and I just want to thank you for your post. Sharing your experience and putting a “realness” to it gives those of us on the outside an idea as to what Steph and Andy can expect tomorrow while they are awaiting word on Lincoln. It helps us have some sort of connection to them. Steph, our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and everyone involved in the whole procedure. Much Love.
ReplyDeleteAmy, Stephanie's mom here, Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I cannot imagine how you got through it, but you sound strong and sharing your knowledge with Steph Andy and crew helps ease our anxiety and I like the NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS! Our prayers and thoughts are with you all every minute and my love to all today and always.
ReplyDeleteAmy - so good to hear from you. Thank you so much. So nice to talk with someone who's been here! Did you know they have a coffee machine in the "Cafe" now?! Sadly, but to be expected, it is all out of coffee. Please thank Griffin for helping Eva out.
ReplyDeleteHi Teri and Mom - thanks for writing.
Hi Jen - Thanks so much for keeping him in your thoughts and keeping in touch.
