Just a little update
Dr. Miles just did rounds. Despite our begging the leads can’t be taken off Lincoln’s head until tomorrow evening. This is too bad because the itching is driving him crazy. We’re nearing that phase where hanging our here isn’t so much fun. No way! Dr. Miles did say that Lincoln did such a great job with his seizure that he made his job much easier. Lincoln usually gives a frightened play by play at the beginning of each seizure before going unconscious. Based on Lincoln’s video and the eeg they were able to determine that his seizures start in the sensory cortex then move to the motor cortex (this is corroborated by many other veegs, MRIs, CAT scans, Wada and fMRI – as well as the videos that we’ve sent). This is interesting but doesn’t change anything that we’re planning as far as surgery. The great news, which we all knew but wanted to be 100% certain, is that there is no seizure activity on the left side of the brain. He completely agrees with Lincoln’s decision for the functional hemispherectomy as opposed to the resection, because it’s the best way to assure seizure freedom. As close as we can get.
Looks like you had a feast fit for a superhero! That's good, fuel him up for surgery. No sticky baskets?? I do miss them and the the ham pies, not to mention the lamb sculptured butter! Sending you strength, hope, faith and much much love!
