yes, it's been a year since the surgery

oh i had such big plans.  and this is huge, it really is.  lincoln went through so much, and eva too.  but it's hard to think about that now.

eva and lincoln are made up of a really neat mix; mostly irish and italian, with some other flavors in there, but  these are the two biggies.  both families are close, really tight families.  they, along with friends that we call family, supported us through this surgery.  before, during, and after.  so it's hard to sound excited today, when we've lost yet another one of us.  the murphy's lost marianne before the surgery, and we (the italian side) lost my cousin mark two weeks after the surgery (while still numb from the loss of aunt theresa and uncle tony).  so while everyone was so sweetly cheering for us to hit the year anniversary, we were all, at the same time, feeling the pain caused by the  absence of the ones we've lost, and knowing that those anniversaries were approaching as well.

i'm so grateful that we celebrated lincoln's miraculous year last night, because shortly after our pumped up boy finally fell asleep, we lost another one.  my uncle frank passed away early this morning from a heart attack.  we're a close family.   this is another big loss.  it leaves my cousins feeling orphaned and  two boys missing their Papa Frank.  we all miss papa frank.

so for our year in review: congratulations lincoln, you are a rockstar.  and eva you are a rock, always have been.  you are compassionate beyond your years.  jimmy, you have the strength of 100 men, and dorothy, more strength than anyone i know.  we have a new baby andrew in the family, and lost 2 babies as well.  frank and theresa are together again.
a lot can happen in a year.
miracles can happen too.

And here is just a little "Note"

    xoxo

There are only miracles and to one degree or another they all soothe, pamper, and enrich. However, to avoid blowing too many minds at once, some are disguised as unpleasant surprises, botched circumstances, and twisted acquaintances that can rarely be seen for who or what they truly are until the pendulum has fully swung.
Yes... don't I think of everything?

    Duck!
    The Universe

So if something still hurts, baffles, or confuses it only means a miracle has occurred, the pendulum is mid-swing, and that soon you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
